Port St Johns

Jewel of the Wild Coast

New Bulolo Bridge

There is a new, strong bridge across the Bulolo River close to the old causeway which was washed away. This bridge will allow the river to flow more freely and the effects are already seen in the picture below.

Bulolo River
Cob Tank

These tanks house some fine specimen of Dusky Cob also known as dagga salmon [Natal] bullies [East Cape] Kobeljou [Wp] They have been caught by a team from Two Oceans Aquarium in collaboration with other scientists for the purposes of research into their use for commercial fisheries. Port St Johns has many fine specimens caught in the Umzimvubu River seen in the background. Thanks to Don Southey for the information.
